Introduction

NEET stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Exam.NEET is an entrance exam for aspirants preparing for the medical and para-medical courses. NEET Exam is conducted in offline mode once a year. Through this exam, students get enrolled in MBBS and BDS colleges in India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NEET exam in India. The total number of questions in the exam is 200 from physics, Chemistry and Biology. 3 hours 20 minutes is the total duration of the exam. It is mandatory to qualify for the exam if you are preparing to become a doctor in India or Abroad. NEET exam is conducted in about 13 languages. NEET exam became legal in India in 2013 by the Supreme Court of India.

NEET EXAM PATTERN FOR 2024

The exam pattern for the NEET 2023 is-

  • NEET exam is conducted in offline mode in which on the OMR sheet you have to give your response.
  • 3 hours and 20 minutes is the total duration of the exam.
  • The NEET exam is based on the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) pattern. 
  • In 13 languages, an exam was conducted.
  • In this exam 200 questions out of which 180 questions are compulsory to attempt.
  • For the right question you will get 4 marks and for the Incorrect question, 1 mark will be deducted.

Eligibility required for NEET exam

The eligibility requirements for the NEET exam are-

  • Candidates should be 10+2 passed.
  • Students should get 50% marks in 10+2.
  • 40% marks required for OBC/SC/ST AND 45% percentage for Physically Handicapped.
  • Subjects required Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in class 10+2.
  • The minimum age required for the students is 17 years.

Documents Required by Candidates for NEET exam

The documents required by candidates are-

  • Passport size photos
  • Scanned Thumb Impression
  • Class 10th and 12th pass mark sheet
  • Scanned Signature of the Students
  • Permanent and present address proof
  • Cast certificate except for General Category.
  •  Citizenship Certificate.

NEET Application Form Procedure

The student who wants to fill out the form has to visit the official site. Firstly they have to register on the portal. So for that keep your documents ready. After completing all your personal, and academic details, and uploading your signature and photos. Proceed with the payment. Payment modes are available both online and offline. By online you can proceed with your payment through credit or debit card, Net Banking and UPI. The fee will vary for general and reserve categories. Be careful before paying the exam fee. After making payment go for the final submission of the form.

About NEET Qualifying Score

If we talk about the NEET exam we should know the difference between cut-off and qualifying NEET Exam. If students want to enrol in a government medical college and top medical colleges the NEET cut-off is required. But if you have qualified for the NEET exam. you can be admitted to any private medical college in the country. With the qualifying certificate of NEET, you can also be admitted to Abroad.
