The college was started in 2011 with the aim to provide equal prospects to women in the medical field and the healthcare industry because the state of Haryana has always been lacking in this department even though it has seen significant development in other sectors.  

This college is a milestone in the history of healthcare in the state of Haryana as it is one of its kind in the state there was only one medical institution established over 100 years ago, i.e., Lady Harding Medical College which came into existence in 1914. 

The medical college is one of the sought-after in the region for women medical aspirants. • At the time of admission, candidates must be a minimum of 17 years of age to get admission to MBBS at BPS Govt. Medical College. 
• Candidates also have to apply for an entrance exam. Most specifically, qualify for the NEET-UG exam with the appropriate cutoff.
