Sardar Patel Medical College is one of India’s top government medical colleges. It was established in 1959 and became Rajasthan's second medical college, The first stone of Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner was laid by Shri Mohan Lal Sukhadia. It is located in Bikaner City, Rajasthan. The medical college was renamed after Sardar Patel, the Iron Man of India and inaugurated by India’s first Prime Minister India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It was popularly known as SPMC Bikaner, and it was fully funded by the government of Rajasthan.       

SPMC Bikaner offers 250 seats for undergraduates (MBBS) and 63 seats for Postgraduation (MD/MS). Also, it has 18 seats in diploma, 2 seats in DM cardiology and 2 seats in MCh Urology. SPMC is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) & World Health Organization (WHO) and is affiliated with the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences.
