Students have to qualify for higher secondary education or equivalent from a recognized board of education such as CBSE and then they will have to apply for an entrance exam such as NEET-UG which is quite a prevalent entrance exam in the entire nation conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
Medical aspirants must meet the eligibility criteria set by the conducting authority. The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the admission year. Firstly, they must have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board or university in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination. The candidate must have obtained a minimum aggregate score in the qualifying examination (usually around 50% to 60%, depending on the category).
The students need to fill out the application form with the required details and submit it within the specified time limit along with relevant documents attached to it. The medical aspirants must submit updated and accurate information in order to avoid getting their application rejected in the first phase.
The NTA shortlists the application of selected students as per their NEET scores and other factors related to eligibility and prepares a merit list. Students on that merit list are then called for counseling sessions by the relevant authorities. During the counseling process, aspirants who wish to get admission to MBBS at SHKM GMC must select their choice subject to the availability of seats, candidate’s rank, and category.
After the counseling process, students who are allotted medical seats at SHKM GMC have to report to the college and get their documents verified by the admission department. Students are advised to carry their original documents and their photocopies. Once the documents are verified, it is important that students pay for the tuition fees for a year or semester to get their seats confirmed at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar, Mewat.
