Eligibility criteria for MBBS in Tamil Nadu

• Candidate must be atleast minimum 17 years old to pursue MBBS here.
• The upper age limit for general category is 25 years while for OBC/SC/ST is 30 years.
• Must be a citizen of India having their Nativity certificate. 
• Candidates must pass their 10+2 with 50% having physics, chemistry, biology and english as their main subjects.
• NEET exam is mandatory with passing marks.

Admission process for MBBS in Tamil Nadu 

The directorate of Medical Education or DME release an application form in an online mode. 

• Firstly visit the official website of DME at tnmedicalselection.net 
• After opening MBBS registration fill he asked details with the relevant documents required such as NEET score card, other education details, signature, parents details and other asked details. 
• Upload your signature and scanned photographs as per asked by the authority.
• Recheck all your documents and click on submit to submit your admission form.
• The page will then direct you towards the payment process which is INR 500 for government seats and 1000 INR for management seats. 
• After successfully submitting your admission form with other required documents such as marksheet of 10+2, NEET admit card, NEET result, last school transfer certificate, nativity certificate, community certificate etc. 
• As the admissions are closed, directorate of Medical Education will publish Tamil Nadu, merit list and the candidates in the list are eligible for further admission. The list is prepared on the basis of NEET scores.
• After downloading the merit list which contain candidates details such as merit rank, NEET roll number, marks obtained, all India rank in NEET UG, and other mentioned details there is a counseling process. 

Counseling 

Directorate of Medical Education or DME is responsible to conduct admission for the counseling of Tamil Nadu MBBS. There are total 3 round of counseling conducted in an online mode which comprises of mop-up round to vacant seats. During the process students are asked to submit their preferences of courses and colleges for admission. Candidates are granted colleges according to their NEET score, state merit list and many other factors. The allotment list of seats are published by authority after every round of counseling and according to the allotted seats students are required to report the university for reserving the further admission.
